Informal ESOL classes
Welcome to our Informal ESOL Section
Our classes are delivered in the local library on two mornings a week, and a further five sessions a week at our Centre, all lasting for two hours.
The classes are at pre-entry, Level 1, and Levels 2 and 3 for intermediates.
The programme is not simply teaching English to refugees and asylum seekers. It is developing the capacity of every individual, providing a safe place in which they can build on the range of resources that they have – knowledge about their areas of interest, skills and ideas, and shared experiences.
Nelson Library – Here is where the classes are taking place, they are on Tuesday and Friday mornings 10 until 12.
Nelson Library can be found in the town centre of Nelson, here are the directions for it.
Pendle New Neighbours’ Centre
If you are interested in our ESOL Classes, or you need any help with your finding out your English level, you can take a test in the PNN Centre.
Our Students
We are deeply committed to empowering our ESOL students with the basic English skills they need to use in their daily lives and pursue their goals with confidence. Every day, we witness the transformative power of language as we support individuals from diverse backgrounds in unlocking their potential and fostering meaningful connections within their communities.
This is what our classes look like. We like celebrating the holidays as well with our students as can be seen in the third picture where we have been celebrating Christmas.
We have got a dedicated teaching staff as well for our ESOL Entry Levels that are passionate about teaching English.
Attendance Certificates
When our ESOL courses finish, we award attendance certificates to our students in recognition of their commitment and hard work.
These certificates stand for much more than just attendance.
They are a proof of the dedication and perseverance each person has shown throughout their language learning process.
Every student’s accomplishment, whether it is consistent attendance in class or overcoming obstacles in their lives to participate, is acknowledged as evidence of their determination and resilience.
